I’m Here!

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Hi everyone, I made it to the Silver Spur.  It’s wonderful here. I’ve already seen a lot of wildlife and I haven’t even been horseback riding yet.  I go in the morning at 10 so think about me out there on a horse.  I can’t wait for tomorrow to see what a new day will bring.  The plane rides out were fun and went without a hitch.

I’ll keep you posted on what I’m doing each night. Tonight, I’m chillin and visiting with my fellow Wild Rose Press writers and editors.  Have a great night everyone

The Silverspur Ranch

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

The mistress will be leaving in the morning to fly out to the Silverspur in Texas. She is going to a writer’s retreat there given by The Wild Rose Press.  I know she is excited, but I will miss her. Check back here from time to time while she is gone.  She is planning on letting us all know what is going on out there provided the Internet works. I for one can’t wait to hear about the horses and the rodeo they are going to.

Best get off before LIttle Bit wakes up.  He gets grouchy when I waked him up playing around on the computer.  Talk to you all later.

Countdown

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Lizzie here.  The mistress is going to Texas for a writer’s retreat.  She’s going to a dude ranch. :-)   Glad it is her and not me. I’m not sure I’d like those horses if they are anything like the ones I’ve seen online.  They look huge! She’s going with her publisher, The Wild Rose Press. They are the ones she has Jaguar Nights, Leopard Dreams and Ghostly Mistakes with.  Great publisher!

We had some bad weather last night. Nothing major here but it got bad around Yazoo City, Mississippi. Mostly rain and wind here.  I don’t like thunderstorms. I hide when there is one here.  The others just take naps. NO I’m not a scardy cat.

I hope the mistress can send you some pictures from the ranch, if not, she will after she gets back. I’ll try and post on what I hear, but there isn’t any cell phone reception out there. I worry about her all alone and away from us.  We can’t protect her from here.

That’s all for now. I’ll post again later as soon as I know anything more.  Have a great week!

Growing A Book

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Hi everyone, Lizzie here. The mistress is working on books three of Tales of the Cat so she is busy right now.  I wanted to tell you what is going on around here. The old folks…uh I mean gransparents are getting into spring. Grandfather is working outside and had someone make a small garden.  The mistress is going to plan tomatoes and bell pepper and okra and squash this evening. I’m sure us cats will watch. I may need to supervise as I’m good at that part. :-)   Grandmother is making tuna salad. I’m looking forward to that myself.

It’s such a beautiful day today.  Not too hot and not cool.  A nice wind to keep the bugs hopping. The people here helping Grandfather are making lots of noise with machines. The rest of the cats except for Little Bit are all off hiding like little babies. LOL  I know they won’t hurt us and Little Bit says they are good folks. I am learning that Little Bit knows more than I thought.  Guess being as old as he is, he should.

I asked the mistress what was going on news wise and she just reminded me that See How They Die is out at Fiction Wise as well at The Dark Castle Lords.  She is spending her time working on Tiger Lies though she has two other things she has started. Oh, and let me give you a hint on Tiger Lies.  I told you the hero is Usher.  Well, the heroine is Tawny.  Now you know something noone else does.

Oh, got to run.  Little Bit has something he is stalking.  Got to run see what it is.  I might want to take it away from him.  Talk to you all next week!

Spring Has Sprung at Last!

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Hi everyone, it’s Lizzie.

I know, I haven’t posted in a long time. Sorry. I just got lazy. Not going to happen again. The mistress has been busy and so you need to know what is going on here. She has a new book out, See How They Die. It was previously published with another publisher but is now with The Dark Castle Lords Publishing. I really think you will love it! It is a dark paranormal romantic suspense.  Hmmm hope I got that right. I was reading off the back.

Here is a little piece of it for you to read.

“Look, I’m not going to Casper with you.  I’ll email you every single detail from the dreams as soon as I can write them down.”  Rhi waited, but all he did was smile and shake his head.  “Then you’re going to have to arrest me.”  She schooled her face to hide the panic that washed over her and jerked the two ends of the towel tighter across her legs.

“Can’t,” was all he said.  His eyes never left her, kicking her anxiety level up a notch or two.

“What do you mean you can’t?  Can’t what?”  Rhi had a bad feeling she wasn’t going to like this answer.

“I’m not an officer of any type of law, so I can’t arrest you.”  His dark eyes still held their promise of danger, his face void of any expression.  Finally, he moved off the bed, stretching to his full height before slowly approaching her.

Rhi’s breath caught in her throat as she watched him draw nearer.  Caught in the chair with a towel barely covering her, she had nowhere to run.  Her only choice would be to drop the towel and break for the door, but she wouldn’t even consider that option.  When he leaned over her, snagging her panties with two fingers from the back of the chair, she sank deeper.  His face never registered the first hint of emotion, but his eyes grew impossibly darker as he slowly lowered the silky scrap of cloth into her lap.

“You’re going to Casper.”  He caught her eyes with his and she couldn’t look away no matter how much she tried.  “Unless you’d rather stay here with me as your roommate.”  Leaning forward, he placed a hand on both arms of the chair, smiling with that predator smile, more teeth than lips.

It wasn’t a particularly friendly smile, but one holding the promise of something deliciously wicked.  Rhi nervously moistened her lips, still unable to tear her eyes from his, and tried to keep from sinking any deeper into the chair.

“At least in Casper you’ll have a room all to yourself.”

Dear God, she groaned to herself.  That smile was a dangerous thing.  When it wasn’t all teeth, being dangerous, it turned his dark eyes into fiery pits promising every exquisite torture a woman’s body could ever crave.  Everything inside her wanted to find out what just one of those delicious tortures would feel like, but she knew better.  The crackling energy around him seemed alive with a mind of its own, telling her even though a taste would be worth it, she’d likely get burned in the end.

The mistress is working on book Three of Tales of the Cat right now.  The hero…I’m not supposed to tell, but I will anyway…His name is Usher.  Do you remember him as the guard in Leopard Dreams?  Anyway, more on that as I get a peak over her shoulder.

Nice and pretty outside again. I spend part of my day sunning on the back patio with Little Bit. The little mischief maker, Tippsy goes off hunting all day. We don’t see much of her during the day.  Temperatures are just right if they would only stay in the upper 70’s we would all be happy.  Well, best go now before the mistress finds me on her computer again. She doesn’t like it when I get cat hair on the keyboard.  :-)

Talk to you again soon.
