And The Beat Goes On

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Hey Everyone!

Lizzy and Little Bit here to talk a bit about what’s going on around here.  LOT’s!  There’s a lot going on around here.  First, the mistress has some photos she will put up tonight or tomorrow night.  She’s having problems with some program that downloads them.  Techy stuff and not a feline issue.

Second, she’s proud to still have See How They Die as number 2 on the Triskelion Suspense Sales Page!! YEA!!!  We are all very excited about that!  Even Little Bit who rarely gets excited, smiled when he checked the status this morning.

Next, just so you all know.  Triskelion is re-organizing some so it may be a while before we hear more about the Unfinished Business Series of books.  We will let you know as soon as they let us know!

Okay, Little Bit wanted to talk some.  He never tells me what about until I give him the keyboard.  I’ll be back to say bye and rebuttal anything he might say about me!

Hmmm, she’s a pest is what she is.  I’m talking about Lizzy.  I’ll start off by telling you a little bit about what she’s been up to these last few days!  The little rascal jumped up on the grandmother’s flowers and turned them over after she spent all afternoon potting them!  She even broke a few of the pots!  I told her to stay away from the plants, but she can’t be told anything.

Oh, and she’s pestering the mistress as well.  The poor woman had some roots removed from her mouth after a tooth broke and is still in pain and the little darling makes the mistress chase her each night in order to put her inside where it’s safe.  Not to mention that it takes over an hour and so it’s much later than it would have been.  See if you all can get Lizzy to be nice to the mistress for me.  I can’t do anything with the little monster!

Now, more news for you about what she is up to here.  The grandparents are having a garage sell this weekend with lots of furniture and decorating stuff so they have been out in the back yard in their little storage cottage going through things to get ready.  Meanwhile, the mistress comes home after work and writes more on the Jaguar books and organizes her books in her book room.  She now has a book room in her office as well as the Library in the big house and her mini-library in her bedroom.  Lots and lots of books.

Mind you, she loves to read and usually has two or three different books going at one time.  One in her car, one in her bedroom and one in the - um, well, the powder room.  She listens to another book on CD in the car when she is driving.  Right now, she is listening to Tony Hillerman’s Dancehall of The Gods.  She loves the Tony Hillerman books and also loves George Guidall who reads them.  He reads the Lillian Jackson Braun books as well.  You know, The Cat Who… books.

Anyway, she’s been writing some short stories and sending them out to various magazines so when she hears back, we will let you know about those.  Several of them are about some of our old friends who’ve crossed the rainbow bridge.  Toby for one.  She’s back on the Jaguar books and is also working on the grandparent’s book as I call it, And Mom and Dad Make Three.  I don’t know which one I like the most right now.  I love to sit on the back of her chair and read while she writes.

I think I’ve managed to ramble on a bit now.  Lizzy wants to jump back in and stir something up I’m sure.  Just remember, she needs to be nicer to the mistress! Ta ta!

Little Bit needs to mind his own business!  Who was it that stayed out all night the other night HUH?  Hehehehe  I’ll be nice.  I just hate going inside at night.  That’s when it’s quiet outside and the bugs are everywhere!

One more bit of news for you out there.  She’s going to have a few blog guests during the month of June to talk about their books and what they are doing.   I’ll post a list once she has it ready and that way you’ll know who will be here and when.  So check back for the list.  Have a good week everyone!

Hey, it’s Little Bit here. See me up there?  I’m looking at the huge squash plant the mistress has.  It’s not even full grown yet!  It already has some baby squash on it.  She has pictures further down of them.  The plants behind me are butter beans and they are just beginning to run.  Naturally Lizzy wants to know when she can chase them.  I didn’t have the heart to tell her they don’t actually run anywhere she can chase.  Silly cat.

Speaking of which, there she is below me.  She was pouncing on a butterfly but it got away and just after the mistress took this photo, it came back and landed on her back and then when Lizzy nearly turned a sumersault, it flew away.  I laughed and laughed and so did the mistress.

dscn1777.JPG

Here is that baby squash for you.  Actually, there are a total of three in this picture you can see but the plant actually has five!!  See how big that stalk is?  There’s a picture further down of Lizzy behind it so you can see just how big it is!

Below is a picture of the new baby tomatoes.

dscn1793.JPG

Here is that monster squash plant again.  They two plants next to it are poor pepper plants trying to get some sun around the squash!  See the baby squash  showing!

dscn1775.JPG

Here is Lizzy behind the squash.  See her butt sticking out?  Those are peppers directly in front of her.  Poor things aren’t doing too well are they? LOL

dscn1781.JPG

Here are some of her flowers

dscn1806.JPG

dscn1817.JPG

Oh, and there is Julie.  She’s the blind lady Lizzy keeps terrorizing.  Isn’t she pretty!  The flowers are pretty too.

Okay, better go and check on the little squirt.  Have a good night

Monday Morning Update!

Monday, May 21st, 2007

It’s Lizzy and Little Bit again to say hi and let you know what’s going on around here at the mistress’s house and office.  First, I just have to tall you what an absolutely fantastic weekend it was!  I had so much fun and was out all day all weekend.  In fact, everyone was out all weekend.  The mistress had a meeting in Jackson but after she rested up some after her trip, she was out with us.

So, first, winners!  She ran a contest on the Triskelion Book Loop asking where the first murders occurred in her book, See How They Die and the correct answer was Casper or Izard County Arkansas!  She picked Amy Findley and Larena Wirum.

Congratulations girls!  You’re going to love the prizes.  They will be on their way to you later this week.  I have to wrap them for the mistress to take to the post office.  Don’t delay, get her your addresses soon!

Congratulations also goes out to and Little Lamb Lost, (yep, that’s what it says)  who won a grab bag of fun stuff from RT for signing her guest book and/or commenting here on the blog!  She pulled your name last night and left it for me to announce today.  Send her your address so she can send out your gift.  Her email is meow63@yahoo.com or author@maryalicepritchard.com

She’ll be pulling more names as the week goes on so don’t forget to check back often and if you read the first chapter on her website of See How They Die, be sure to comment about it.  She really wants to know how you feel.

Oh, and I’m really excited about a review I saw on See How They Die!  I can’t tell you where I saw it yet because they haven’t posted it but I will tell you a snippet of what it said.

See How They Die has to the best romantic suspense I’ve read this year.”

The mistress is going to be so excited when she reads it!  I can’t wait for it to hit the web! I know something she doesn’t know…I know something she doesn’t know!  Even Little Bit didn’t know about it till I showed him what I’d found!

I’ll be back tomorrow and tell you more about the weekend.  Little Bit just brought in a really neat looking bug and I want to take a look at it before he eats it.  See you all again later!

Friday And It’s Nice Outside!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Hey, Lizzy here.

Only for a bit though. I came in to get away from the grandparents.  They just chased a squirrel away from me!  Can you belive the nerve!  Sheesh!  Anyway, the mistress is busy today writing and getting ready for a meeting she goes tomorrow.  She has to drive a long ways in the morning so she won’t be online tonight.

Little Bit and I are out trying to keep the grandparents busy so they leave her alone some.  SO far, it’s worked but they won’t let me chase anything! Little Bit says to go to the back yard when they are in the front yard but I like the front better!

I haven’t seen many comments about her first chapter on the website.  I really thought more people would read it!  She wants to know how you like it or if you like it.  So email her or comment so she knows.  There will be two winners tomorrow night and more on Sunday as she will be posting a lot over at the Triskelion loops.

Have a good day everyone! I’m going to find that squirrel!

Another Winner and Fun News

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Good Morning!

Lizzy here to fill you in on what’s going on with the mistress.  Oh, and I’ll tell you a little about what the um, grandparents have been up to as well.  Boy are they funny!

First, I want to announce a winner from those who’ve posted a comment on the mistress’s blog.  Congratulations to  Amy Fendley!   Be sure to email the mistress at meow63@yahoo.com so she can get your address to send your grab bag out!

Now, I want to let you know that See How They Die is still number 2 on the Triskelion Publishing Suspense Sales Site! Woohoo!  Thanks to all of you who’ve bought her book recently.  We thank you!  Be sure to email her or leave a comment here on her blog or in her guest book on her website about how you liked it!

Second, she’s presently working on a weir book series about Jaguars and other cats. (We ARE the best animals!)  She hopes to sell it soon and we will keep you updated on how that goes.  She will probably post some excerpts from it later next week and is planning to post some excerpts of Ghostly Mistakes beginning tomorrow.  Oh, and she will still be posting some of See How They Die and the grab bag give away continues through the end of the month of May.  So you still have plenty of time to leave comments at her web site and here on her blog to be entered.  She LOVES to hear from you!

I’ll give you a hint on the Jaguar books.  Hehehe don’t tell on me.  Her hero in the first book is named Cole.  He’s a dark sort of guy and has a lot of anger inside him that someone needs to cool off!  Hmmm wonder who that will be?  I’ll catch the heroine’s name and let you know it as soon as she isn’t looking.

Now for the fun part!   The grandfather and the grandmother made changes over at the office (little house).  They moved our food and water into the kitchen and put a door on the bathroom where our food used to be.  Not a big deal to me, but oh boy! The blind cat, Julie, she was really lost! Heheheh I know, be nice.  Sigh  Anyway, it was so funny to watch the grandfather try to lead her to the food and water.

He finally gave up and went outside to do something and Julie followed him everywhere he went after that. LOL He couldn’t get away from her.  She sat at the door when he went into the big house until he came back out.  Finally, he sat down and picked her up and rubbed her for a while and then put her inside the little house and ran! LOL  That was so funny!

But, the funniest thing of all was the red hat he wore to work in the yard.  It said Heart Breaker on it! I’m not kidding.  It was the mistress’s red ball cap and since he couldn’t find his, the grandmother put it on him.  I want a picture to put here for all of you to see, but as soon as he saw the camera, he took it off and glared at me.  Don’t worry though, the mistress is going to get one of him and post it.  The next time he works outside.

Oh, better run.  Don’t forget everyone to get your comments in so you can be eligible to win!

Don’t Forget The Contests!

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Hi! It’s Lizzy!

I wanted to tell you how much fun I had yesterday!  The grandparents were outside a lot over the weekend and the mistress cut the grass on the big machine and I chased the bugs she stirred up with it.  That was the best fun!

It rained some Saturday afternoon so I ended up inside a lot, but not Sunday!  Oh, and she doesn’t know it, but I caught myself a bird Sunday morning and hid it under the grandmother’s car so they wouldn’t throw it away!  I like to play with the feathers!  It really bothers her for us to do that, but I went after the mean birds this time.  Got one of those blue jays that kept attacking the small birds at the feeder.

So, she cut the grass in the front and the side and the grandfather has been working on some of the parts the big machine can’t get to with the small machine.  It’s still too wet in the back yard for the big machine to cut.  I don’t think the mistress wanted him to cut the grass with the small machine since he has to push it and pull the long string to make it go.  I’ve been watching after him though.  If he looked like he didn’t feel good or was hot, I ran up to him and so he had to stop and move me.  Snicker snicker.

So, don’t forget the contests!  She mailed out a lot of prizes on Saturday.  She put together some more last night to send when she picks the winners.  Be sure to post a comment on her blog and read the first chapter of See How They Die on her website!  She might ask a question from it!  You never know!

Little Bit and I watched, Julie, the blind cat walk all the way over to the big house and up the steps yesterday.  You have to admit, that’s really brave when you can’t see.  She’s been doing that some today, back and forth.  I still like to pick on her because she will lash out at anything around her and almost always pops her friend, Howie.  Yep, I’m a little stinker, but she needs the exercise! She’s really fat! I’m just stout! Hehehe

More later folks.  Be sure to check back!

Wow! Talk about friends. I thought my muses played dirty, but it seems friends can do that too!  LOL  Melanie Atkins just tagged me.  Evidently that means I’m supposed to tell you eight things about me that no one knows.  I’m not sure I know eight things about me.  I bet Lizzy would though.  Maybe I’ll just let her dish the dirt on me.  She likes to do that.

Lizzy!  Come here girl!  Here, you can handle this.  I’ll go finish working on my jaguar series. Oh and when you finish, be sure to tag eight others.

Oh boy!  She’s letting me tell you things about her! Hehehe of course she knows I’d do it anyway. hehehe   Here we go.

Hi Everyone!  Lizzy here.

The mistress was pitiful this morning! I felt so sorry for her! She really didn’t want to go walking with the um, grandfather. Hehehe  She wrote out a top ten list of why she shouldn’t go walking early in the morning.  I think it was just to make her feel better but I’m going to share it with you and - I’m going to leave it for the grandfather to find too!  Here it is!

TOP TEN REASONS I SHOULDN’T WALK EARLY IN THE MORNING

10.  My eyes can’t open enough to see where I’m going that early.

 9.   I end up wearing my shirt inside out that early in the morning.

 8.   I forget to put ALL my clothes on that early in the morning.

 7.   Dippity Doo hisses and pouts at me when I get up that early.

 6.   I haven’t had enough Diet Coke yet and growl while I walk.

 5.   I scare all the ducks and squirrels at the park that early.

 4.   The crows land on me thinking I’m a scarecrow that early.

 3.   Who can get up so early without at least one chocolate bar?

 2.    I can’t concentrate at work for yawning so much my eyes

        water.

 1.    I fall asleep in the car in the parking lot and am late for work

even though I’m sitting there by 7:45!

I think she needs some help with some of this.  Don’t you?  Poor thing, and she has a Release Party tonight at the Triskelion Books Loop  for her book,  See How They Die  so she won’t be going to bed early!  It starts at 5:30 pm.

Go to  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TriskelionBooks/

You will need to sign up for the loop to chat and qualify for the prizes!

(Sign up ahead of time… need help just let Rita know…
 Subject line:  help chat… ritakarnopp13@yahoo.com)

There will be lots of other authors including Rita Karnopp, Jordan Dane, Sarah Grimm, Jennifer Loy (aka JLo), Mary Martinez, Maggie Nash and I’m sure there will be more stopping by to say hi or give out some exerpts to read.

Everyone, go by and support her so she stays awake! Hehehe  ask her questions so she has to answer you and remember to award prizes! If you don’t, I’m afraid she’ll fall asleep in the office and I won’t have the chair to sleep in tonight!

I’ll talk to you later,

Lizzy

She Is So Funny!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

The mistress is! It’s Lizzy and Little Bit today.

The mistress was really dragging this morning when she got in the truck with the old man to go walking.  Oh, sorry.  Little Bit says I’m to call him Grandfather.  Ha!  Anyway, she barely had her eyes open and I was worried she was going to run into something before she got to the truck. When they got back, she didn’t get out of the truck immediately.  She sort of slumped back in the seat until the ol… oops, grandfather made her get out.  She was really moving slow too.

Tonight she watered the flowers and the stuff in the garden out back.  I walked around with her.  Little Bit was lazy and stayed in the office.  You should have heard her talking about having to get up to go walk again in the morning.  She fussed and fussed.  Then she fussed about not being able to get to her lap top inside to write last night.  The old um grandparents had stuff out on her bed to put up.  They had unpacked some of her cat collection and left it on the bed for her to decide where to put it.  She was saying while she watered, “You’d think they’d wait for the weekend when I don’t have to get up early to walk and go to work!”

Anyway, she wasn’t in a really happy mood. ;-)

I saw where some of you were talking about walking and how much you didn’t like it either.  I guess none of you really like to do it.  I love it! It’s fun to chase the bugs and birds and then just lay around in the grass.  The mistress is going to take me to the park where she walks as soon as she gets the stroller fixed.  Little Bit says I have to sit inside it with a screen around me to go to the park because I can’t run after the ducks.  Why go if you can’t chase the ducks and squirrels?  He says to give her something to push while she walks so she will walk longer.  Humph, well, if it will help the mistress, I’ll go along with it, but I don’t much like the idea of having to be still and not run around.

I can’t bark like the puppy one of you was talking about.  He barks at people he sees.  I barely have a meow!  How am I going to have any fun if I’m just sitting still?  pout pout.

Yowwwllllll

Sorry about that, I had to scoot Lizzy off since she was too busy fussing and pouting to talk.  I wanted to say hi anyway and remind you all to go and check out the mistress’ book!  See How They Die! You can go straight to the buy page here:  http://www.triskelionpublishing.com/bookstore/product_info.php?products_id=1628

It’s only 6.50 and a really good dark paranormal romantic suspense.  Hmm, I hope I got that right. I’m not the best at advertising, but Lizzy is too busy feeling sorry for herself.  Little rascal.  Did the mistress tell you about the mess she made in the garden?  Hmmm, well needless to say, the grandparents were a little upset with her demonstration of digging after they’d planted okra.  LOL  I enjoyed the show though.

I’d better go, she’s in a mood and needs kitty sitting to keep her out of trouble.  Be sure and read the mistress’ book and tell her what you think.  She likes to hear from you and she wants to be sure she write what you enjoy reading.  So tell her!

More Winners!

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

It’s Lizzy again, snicker

She picked more winners! Margaret G., Angela P. and Joye!

You need to email her at author@maryalicepritchard.com and give her your snail mail address so she can send out your goodies!

Thanks for commenting on her blog here and for signing her guest book.  Spread the word about her contest and book that’s out!  She is getting ready to have a big contest to give away one download and a great gift basket as well!

Oh, and I have to tattle on her.  Don’t tell on me though. ;-)   She and the old man are going walking every morning really early and she doesn’t like it one bit! Hehehe  I heard her grumbling when she walked outside this morning heading for the truck.  They go to a park with a pond and ducks to walk.  I’ve tried to tag along with them but she puts me in the office when they go. Pout pout.  I really want to see what these ducks look like up close!  When she gets back from walking, she’s only a little more awake and just as fussy!

Little Bit said she has a stroller for us when they get it put together she plans to take one of us walking every morning.  I want to go and see the ducks!  I’m not sure what a stroller is, but sounds like fun if it gets me to the park.  I’ll try and hint to her a little more to get it put together soon!

Oh, and she is polishing up one of her new books to send out as well.  I’m not sure of the title on it yet, but think it is the one about big cats!  Jaguars!  I like cats, don’t you?  I’m going to try and nose around a bit more and I’ll let you know what I find out.  She’s also waiting on announcements on when her Unfinished Business Trilogy will be released.  Book one, Ghostly Mistakes is ready for edits from what she said.  I can’t wait for that one to come out!  The lead character is named after me!! Lizzy.

Oh, there’s the old man ready to let us out for the day.  Got to go. Talk to you later,

Lizzy
