OUT OF THE BLUE

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

I have just been informed that my publisher, Inara Press, is closing their doors. I had no idea this was in the works or even a possiblity when even last night we were chatting at Romance At Heart Chat room about out books and the upcoming new relases. Needless to say, I’m sad and devistated.

This means that for those of you who have purchased my Seron Serial, Ghostly Mistakes, they will send the remainder of Season One to you on Friday. Should you not receive it, please PLEASE email me & let me know so I may send it to you myself.  author@maryalicepritchard.com                      I will do everything I can to find a new home for it soon but if I am not able to, I will be glad to provide Season Two for you to read.  I am very sorry this has happened but I didn’t know. I appreciate everyone’s support and good wishes and hope you will continue to visit my site and my blog to keep up with my progress on finding a new publisher and chat with the muses.

Again, thank you so much,

Mary Alice

ARE WE THERE YET?

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

How many times have we said that as a child? Better yet, for those of you with your own children, how many times have you heard it in the last few months?  Can’t go ten minutes without hearing it I bet!

Well, I’ve decided that’s because time moves slower when you are young. Kids have to be in an entirely different time zone from us that overlaps but doesn’t affect our time. That is until you are at work…. then time drags and you look up and it’s just Monday or just Tuesday!

To adults it seems like the weekend will never arrive! Then, we jump into our old zone and the weekend flys by. I had so much to get done over the weekend and can’t tell I finished anything! Now, it’s half way to the weekend and I feel like it’s still Monday.

The muses have been enjoying the summer nights way to much. I can’t make them come in so I can go to bed at night. Even the visiting muses (who seem to be permenant now) are giving me heck trying to get them back inside each night.

I attempt to pick one up and it bounds off about five feet and then sprawls out like he never moved. I make it all the way over to him again and just as soon as I bend over…spooof, he’s gone again, another five feet and rolling on his back! GRRRRRRrrrrrrr

Thirty minutes of chasing/herding cats and I’m wiped! Did someone put them up to this? I sure hope not, it’s taking away from my writing time folks! Ask them to cut me some slack will ya’?

Lizzy caught a green tree frog the other day and even though I managed to rescue the thing before she did any damage, she still foamed at the mouth and spit everywhere for awhile.  Man, nothing as nasty as frog froth! I couldn’t get away from her after that. She wanted to share her disease with me. Ewwwww.  Maybe she will leave the frogs alone for awhile now. So far, no stink bugs so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

That’s about it for now, check back and I’ll post an excerpt from Season Two of Ghostly Mistakes (Ghostly Intentions) sometime tomorrow.  Have a great week!

Friday Flights of Thought

Friday, June 9th, 2006

On Mondays I wonder how I will get through the next week and then Friday is here and I can’t remember the week passing. Yea, it’s just me. LOL Lizzy and Little Bit are snoozing and I’m about to run to lunch. I wanted to say hi and thank everyone for visiting my site and blog. Your thoughts and ideas about both the site and my book would be appreciated. I truly want to write along the lines people enjoy reading.

For everyone who has bought Season One of Ghostly Mistakes, my Seron Serial with Inara Press, you are close to half way through the story now.  Let’s see, June 26th will be episode six so you’ve read four now. What do you think? Are you enjoying it? Is it too slow or too fast?

Just on a side note, I’m finishing up my final self-edits of a Dark Paranormal Romantic Suspense I’m sending off for Editor review this weekend and hope to sell it. Keep your fingers crossed! As soon as I know something… well, Lizzy will beat me to it I’m sure, but I’ll be sure you know all about it.

I have a Vampire Romance I’m nearly through writing as well. It’s not as dark as the above one but it has a lot of suspence in it. I’ll tell you more about it as well. For now, the hero is from the Viking error and the heroine is from Arkansas.

I suppose I’ve rambled enough and need to head out to lunch now. I just wanted to take a momment and say hi and  Thank you all!

I for once I am ahead of Lizzy!!! She is busy outside with the bug patrol so I get to tell you about my news! I have an absolutley wonderful review up at Romance At Heart Magazine.  You can view the entire review at: http://romanceatheart.com/review/ghostlymistakes.html

Here are a few excerpts from the review…  “Mary Alice Pritchard pens a well-written story with a great plot, fascinating characters and ambiance that lace all throughout the read.”

“Ms. Pritchard blends a compelling tale with dynamite dialogue, remarkable sensations that can be felt throughout and characters that rock. “

“Their emotions and actions are true to form and spin sizzling electricity through the pages. For a moment I had to keep looking over my shoulder, this magnificent read seemed so genuine.”

CAUGHT IN A THUNDERSTORM

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

Toby and I got caught outside in a thunderstorm last night for almost two hours! I was stuck over in the bushes by the pine trees and I don’t know where Toby was but think he was on the front porch! Man I don’t like all that rain and thunder!

The bushes kept me mostly dry cause the wind wasn’t blowing much, but the thunder and lightening really bothered me! I don’t like all that loud noise! It shook the ground!  She called and called when it first started but we didn’t come then cause we didn’t want to get wet. Boy was that a mistake!

As soon as the rain nearly stopped, the mistress came looking for us and called us again. Toby made it to the carport first, but I was close behind! I sure didn’t want to stay outside in all the water!  I’m not going to stay out next time if it starts that stuff!
